Slipknot bassist Paul Gray found dead

The Des Moines Register is reporting that Slipknot bassist Paul Gray, otherwise known as No. 2 or "The Pig," was found dead at 10:50 a.m. this morning at a hotel in Urbandale, Iowa. He was 38.

A hotel employee reportedly discovered Gray's body. Police are investigating, but say there is no evidence of foul play. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.

Gray was an original member of Slipknot, appearing on each of the band's releases through 2008's All Hope Is Gone. He also contributed to Drop Dead, Gorgeous' 2007 album, Worse Than A Fairy Tale and Reggie And The Full Effect's 2008 album, Last Stop: Crappy Town.

No statement has been released by the band at this time, however a representative for Roadrunner Records confirmed the news to Altpress. Our deepest condolences go out to Gray's family, friends and fans.
