Trent Reznor wins Oscar for “The Social Network” score

Nine Inch Nails mastermind and former AP cover star Trent Reznor took home the Academy Award for "Best Original Score" at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards held Sunday night. The minimalist and moody score that Reznor collaborated on with Atticus Ross for The Social Network beat out those by John Powell for How To Train Your Dragon, Alexandre Desplat for The King's Speech, Hans Zimmer for Inception and A.R. Rahman for 127 Hours. In his speech, Reznor said, "Wow, is this really happening? When we finished work on The Social Network, we were very proud of our work and happy just to be involved in this film. To be standing up here in this company is humbling and flattering beyond words."

The pair also won the same category at the Golden Globes in January.
