Bruce Springsteen joins the Gaslight Anthem onstage at Glastonbury

Alternative Press - Scott Heisel on 6/28/09 @ 11:27 AM - altpress.com

Sometimes, rock 'n' roll dreams come true after all: Yesterday, as New Jersey's latest sensation the Gaslight Anthem performed at the U.K.'s Glastonbury Festival, fest headliner (and all-around rad dude) Bruce Springsteen watched on from the wings. But that's not all: As the band were about to play "The '59 Sound," The Boss joined them onstage for what we can only imagine was a rollicking rendition of the track.

We can only imagine, however, because while there is video available via the BBC here, it appears that it will only play for you if you're located in the U.K. -- bummer.

However, the BBC has supplied screenshots of the once-in-a-lifetime duet, available below:

If that doesn't get you supremely stoked for Gaslight's North American tour this fall with Murder By Death, it's possible you may not have a pulse. Dates here.

This band have officially achieved every last one of their goals. I think all that would be left is if they could somehow reanimate Joe Strummer and get him onstage with them, too.

They are awesome, I'm really happy for them.

Would anybody be surprised to see a Gaslight-supported Boss tour in the future? Not me.

It would be cooler if it was Joe... but that picture of Brian and Bruce singing together on the microphone is the coolest thing I've seen in awhile. I could not be more proud of these boys.
