Paramore's Josh Farro announces engagement; will miss tour dates
Alternative Press - Tim Karan on 2/6/10 @ 12:31 PM - altpress.com
Farro wrote the following blog on Paramore.net: "hey guys, I hope everyones doing well! I am enjoying some time off here in franklin and definitely looking forward to the superbowl! Go Saints! Hehe. I've got some news to share with you guys so here it goes..
As some of you already know, I am engaged! So, as weird as it is to stay behind, I need to take some time off to plan the wedding and everything. Because of that I will not be joining the guys on the pacific rim tour coming up. I feel really blessed to be able to take this time off, especially in the midst of this record cycle. The band has been extremely supportive and gracious to me about all of this which has made it a lot easier. Justin York, Taylor's brother, will be filling in for me as a favor. He's an awesome dude, you all will love him. Trust me, I know it's strange having someone "fill in" for me. I dont like it anymore than you guys do, but this is the most important thing in the world to me and I trust you all will understand. The Lord has blessed me with the most amazing woman and for that I am eternally grateful. I can't tell you guys how excited I am to get married! The thought of it blows my mind every day!
I will be back soon! Don't worry! :) I love you guys. Thank you so much for all of your support and love. What you guys do for me and the band is out of this world. No one has fans like us. I shall see you all very soon."
We'd like to offer our best wishes to Farro and his fiancee. Have anything you'd like to say?

Bomb scare at 30 Seconds To Mars event in L.A.
Alternative Press - Tim Karan on 2/5/10 @ 12:23 AM - altpress.com
Fans were gathered to watch 20 minutes of the band's upcoming documentary when a young man in a hoodie stormed into the venue with a large, wrapped box and dropped the package at frontman Jared Leto's feet. The man stood onstage and said, "It's time for a little self-help," before Leto interrupted with, "I think he's got some sort of agenda or something." Leto then grabbed the man by the arm and pulled him out of the room through a back door.
A comment below from a fan at the event paints Leto as a hero. Ozzylove wrote, " So we're all in sitting, waiting to watch 20 mins of their documentary. I was at the the back by the door. Jared came in to introduce the film and then there was a BANG on the front door (right next to me). Some dude came in (young guy with a lit cigarette in his mouth) carrying a big box wrapped in gold paper, and with a big stack of $20s taped to the top. Weird. Everyone in the room watched him walk toward Jared. Jared said "someone stop him" 3 or 4 times, but no one did. The guy got to Jared, dropped the box on the floor and started to give a speech. Jared grabbed him by the shoulders and basically drug him out the back door."
At about 9:30 p.m., the Hive account said that the bomb squad had arrived and that the event would go on if possible after the location was secured.
Tweets from 30 Seconds To Mars indicated that nobody has been injured. The Hive tweeted at around 10 p.m. that the show has been pushed to Friday night. "we are going to do the event tomorrow night. sorry to everyone who waited and didn't make it in. stay tuned for more info. sorry!"

UPDATE: 12:14 p.m. EST
TMZ has posted a video of Leto explaining what happened after the incident. He said, "Obviously, it was a pretty intense night. [The police] apprehended the guy. The guy's obviously disturbed and hopefully he's gonna get some help." Leto says the man told him that there were "maybe some" explosives in the box. Reports are saying that the package actually contained a blender and candy. " Leto told the crowd, "Everything's alright and everyone's safe." Check out the video below.

aah, so happy for you Josh! what's another show? you're getting married!! enjoy your time off! best wishes!
This is crap! MCR cancelled their soundwave appearance and now Josh decides he can't play the shows because he has to plan his wedding?! When a band agrees to play any show, whether it is a local show, or a major festival, the whole band commits to that agreement. They have to realise that this isn't just a bit of fun, but it is their job and the fans are paying serious money to see te entire band!
Pixxehh..i understand why you may be pissed that the whole band wouldn't be there..but try and put yourself in Josh's shoes..the man's making serious decisions and stepping into an adult life. It's not like he's leaving for good. He's one of my favorite drummers, but i think a couple shows off, after two solid years to three solid years of touring...give him a bit of a break. Grant you, if it was Haley that wasn't gonna be there, then i'd be ultra pissed. But its the dude's weeding.
*wedding. sorry
Damn and i meant guitarist not drummer..i was thinking of Zac.
WHAT A CROCK !!! I've never heard such a lame ass excuse! If Slash or Angus Young or Jimmy page said they werent goin on tour because they have to stay behnd and look at wedding dresses they'd be laughed all the way out of the r n'r hall of fame. God gave rock n roll to you dude dont blow it
wow one person has said that they were happy for him... hes just getting married not like hes dropping out of the band so wat if he misses like 2 shows. The rest of the band is going to be there and are going to play. Im happy for him, a little sad cause hes amazingly hot lol but ill get over it
I bet he's knocked her up, hence the shotgun wedding
wooow. selfish fans much? so what he is missing a few shows. he's played hundreds of them. isn't it about the music anyway? Taylor can rock pretty hard and i have no doubt that his brother Justin can rock just as hard. Josh trusts Justin to cover, so, all in all it will still be an amazing show. again, Congratulations Josh!
Ummm whose the one being selfish here...? it aint me.think about it. and 16 shows in 4 different countries is MORE than a few shows. whatever!
