Meneguar - Strangers In Our HousePosted by Rachel Lux on 26-Feb-08 @ 01:43 PM
[3/5]Picture an indie act from Brooklyn playing dancey beats mixed with a gritty, almost punk edge who aren't afraid of pop, and you've got Meneguar. The 11 highly guitar-driven tracks on Strangers In Our House are not a clear step away from, but rather an extension of their 2005 EP I Was Born At Night. While Strangers will certainly keep your toes tapping, this album is not flawless. It's sonically diverse, but a few parts sound a little redundant, making a three-minute song feel too long. But all is forgiven with tracks like "Table 2" and "One Thousand Actors," where all the right components are present to make you want to crank up the volume and dance like crazy in your car. It's a safe bet that Strangers In Our House is one of those albums that will increase in awesomeness when performed live.
