After releases on Solid State and Roadrunner, the Agony Scene bring their raging metalcore offerings to yet another metal giant in Century Media; and while the band have yet to make any fundamental changes to the sound we heard on their debut, each release has an added confidence that keeps fans roped in. Get Damned still has the band's signature fast-paced metalcore style, but after exploring a slightly more expansive sound on 2005's The Darkest Red, the Tulsa, Oklahoma, outfit strip things down to show off their riffage chops much in the vein of Swedish legends the Haunted. They're technically proficient and always write records good for at least a few spins, but unfortunately, their music continues to be a bit pedestrian and dry, especially considering their contemporaries' (Unearth, Shadows Fall) abilities to push boundaries and deliver modern takes on a genre many argue peaked long before Dimebag Darrell passed.
