[4/5]You can hear the country infiltrating Lovers Prayers on occasion-the lazy-day shuffle of "Worried Mind Blues," for example, or the close country harmonies that pretty much define "For Shame Of Doing Wrong." But if you're looking for a drastic overhaul of Ida's sound to go with those stories of a New York band leaving the city behind for the Catskills to capture the new album live at Levon Helm of the Band's house... Well, it's not exactly this year's Music From Big Pink. Most tracks sound like Ida being Ida-with the emphasis on understated atmosphere and the unassuming beauty that implies. Yet, the album's most inspired moment may, in fact, be "See The Stars," a sweet, romantic waltz whose soulful sense of majesty suggests what Ida's Big Pink might have sounded like.
