[4/5] Most of you remember Harvey Danger as the group responsible for 1998's unlikely hit "Flagpole Sitta." What most of you probably don't know is that the track came from a near-flawless debut (
Where Have All The Merrymakers Gone?), which was followed up with 2000's even nearer-flawless
King James Version. Of course, the major-label grinder being what it is, the band were summarily chewed up and spat out before eventually disbanding. Thankfully, they reconsidered their decision and recorded this gem of an indie-pop record. "Wine, Women, And Song" will have your toes tapping; "Cream And Bastards Rise" is a fuzzed-out guitar-rock nugget; and "Little Round Mirrors" could've been a late-period Beatles outtake (French horn included). On
Little By Little..., the band turn down the amps slightly in favor of a more piano-driven sound, but they still deliver marvelously in their new configuration.
