There goes another rain forest...
Krisiun - AssassiNationPosted by Editorial Intern on 22-May-06 @ 03:34 PM
[4/5] As tired and clinical as death metal has become since the early-'90s glory days of Morbid Angel, Obituary and Deicide, there are still a handful of second-wave warlords who can transcend the genre's stultifying gore-bore legacy. Enter Krisiun: Equal parts early Sepultura, Slayer and Deicide, this Brazilian power trio are one of the most precise killing machines on the international death-metal battleground. With their sixth full-length, AssassiNation, Krisiun aren't content just to steamroll us with a barrage of blastbeats and subhuman grunts; bassist/vocalist Alex Camargo, guitarist Moyses Kolesne and drummer Max Kolesne hack, flay and shred their way through the stereo field at 1,000 mph before cauterizing the wounds for a bloodless execution: No muss, no fuss, just flawless annihilation.
