Get pissed, destroy.
The Hope Conspiracy - Death Knows Your Name Tim Karan on 12/6/06 @ 1:45 PM
[4/5] There is something deliberately raw about the Hope Conspiracy that has always distinguished them from others working the "-core." Yet
Death Knows Your Name-their grimmest release to date-remains extremely listenable, despite its most forceful and desperate moments. Like their logical forbearers (Deadguy or the oft-likened Unbroken, for example) Hope Con are about intensity, mood and confrontation. But while plenty pissed,
Death's subtler tendencies erupt in measured doses, too, especially on the final track, "Stolen Days" which is equal turns bleak, airy, and downright massive. Hope Con's third full-length (their first for Deathwish, Inc.) marks the addition of guitarist Tim Cossar (American Nightmare, Bars), as well as the return of original guitarist Neeraj Kane (Holy Roman Empire, the Suicide File) to the fold. Fans of pissed hardcore, rejoice! (If that's possible.)
