Klaxons - Xan Valleys EPPosted by Rachel Lux on 10-Apr-07 @ 05:15 PM
[4/5] Listening to the Klaxons makes you want to go to a party. Not just any party, but a huge blowout bash with bright, colorful lights, glow sticks hanging around everyone's neck and a packed, sweaty dance floor where the raucous U.K. trio's frantic beats and prancing synth has got the crowd moving. Xan Valleys is only a small sampling of what the setlist at this party would entail, with three originals, two remixes and a cover of '90s rave hit "The Bouncer," but it's enough to see why the Klaxons ignite your primal urge to kick up your heels and wave a hot-pink glow stick around your head. The repetitive, slightly processed music is borderline club fodder, so it's no surprise the group has been branded "new-rave," but there's clearly more to them than just that. Just hope when the band yelps, "If you're not on the list, you're not getting in," they aren't talking about you. (MODULAR; modularpeople.com) Emily Zemler
