[1/5] Go ahead, do it: Set your body ablaze, as it'll be the only excitement generated in the vicinity of this album. Maybe you could see it coming, as the combination of metal and hardcore is continually being pushed closer and closer to its breaking point. However, there are ways of making said combo sound vital and exciting. Problem is, churning out seven plodding songs that attempt to gussie up the lumbering crawl of Obituary with a little Mastodon, Kylesa and an incalculable number of artificial harmonic squeals, without any of the progressive song writing smarts, isn't one of those ways. What makes this more disappointing is that Light Yourself On Fire call the metal/hardcore hotbed of Florida home and feature ex-members of Reversal Of Man and Omega Man; with that pedigree, one can't help but wonder why the utter lack of energy and uniqueness?
