Putting the metal back in metalcore.
All Out War - Assassins In The House Of God
[3.5/5] All Out War are one of the few bands still showing respect for the time when bands first started merging metal and hardcore after years of animosity.
Assassins In The House Of God continues in that vein by being as politically charged and thrashy as vintage Nuclear Assault, although the powerfully modern mix where the double bass percussion and downtuned machine-gun guitar riffs soak up all of your attention makes it obvious these boys ain't retro chic. The song titles are overly long and parenthetical-"Into The Arms Of Annihilation (Angels Of Genocide)," "Bow To The Hypocrites (Drenched In Defeat)" and closer "Cursed In Damnation (And All Shall Suffer)" almost seem like parody-and you will not want to invite All Out War to your local church or synagogue any time soon; however,
Assassins In The House Of God is great for 1987 or 2007.
