[3] If you're all for nerdy, adventurous hip-hop but anticon always leaves you with that what-the-fuck? feeling, here's a reasonable compromise. Los Angeles underground rapper/producer Giovanni Marks is a 7-footer with a lovably stiff flow and the requisite geek obsessions ("Give me a 8-bit machine," he threatens, "and I'll take out your whole crew"), but he manages to keep things slightly more intriguing than inscrutable. Not all of Young Dangerous Heart's multiple producers give him enough room to unspool, but Thavius Beck's ephemeral soundscape "Cray Crazy" is the best fit for Marks' out-there, out-of-time rhymes.
