Bloodlined Calligraphy - They Want You Silent

[3] The press kit accompanying They Want You Silent bulges with accolades pertaining to how Bloodlined Calligraphy frontwoman Ally French's voice belies her petite feminine frame while supposedly also laying waste to most of her male peers. However, we're more interested in figuring out how, in this day of metalcore oversaturation, a pretty straightforward Bloodlined Calligraphy are able to sound relatively fresh. There's a real blue-collar hardcore sensibility thrown into a teeming pit of viscous '90s thrash metal on They Want You Silent, and despite their heavy reliance on quarter-note chug riffs, BC have managed to create an album of serious mosh-pit anthems.
