It's all in good fun, of course, which is what this Richmond, Virginia, band are all about on their sophomore full-length, The Art Of Partying. Thrashing through 15 tracks of speedy riffing and clever changes, the Waste demonstrate that blistering crossover can also be catchy and obscenely memorable-confirming this band's pedigree among logical forbearers like D.R.I. and Accüsed. The Art Of Partying is also a sounding board that finds Municipal Waste explicitly offering themselves as a fun alternative to the doom and gloom so popular with the kids these days. And though the "party hearty" platform is nothing new, its stump speeches have rarely been so rabid.
