It would be easy to write off Black Veil Brides simply because of their looks, which many QWERTY cowboys have done from the safety of their mom’s basement. But while BVB’s image might scream Mötley Crüe, the music on Set The World On Fire is anthemic arena metal that draws equally from the ’80s (Iron Maiden) and the present day (Avenged Sevenfold) with surprisingly serious, heartfelt and, most important, melodic vocals from bandleader Andy Biersack. “Fallen Angels” combines stadium-sized drums with a screeching dual-guitar solo; ”The Legacy” is loaded with heavy riffing and impressive double-bass work from drummer Christian “CC” Coma; and “Ritual” sounds like something John Feldmann would’ve written for Story Of The Year. Still, there’s no question Biersack and the boys are making an active decision to go after the Rock On The Range crowd with lunkheaded hard rock (“God Bless You,” “Youth & Whiskey”) and painfully bland ballads (“Savior”) that are just dull enough to strike a chord with middle America. To that, we say good luck, guys. We hope you know what you’re getting into.

"Impressive double-bass work"? You are far off my friend, and so is the direction of this band. As stated in my Rebels EP review, this band is clearly untalented, and this album really shows off their lack of variation. Each song mimics the other, and, in reality, this album doesn't stand a chance against the likes of Underoath, D.R.U.G.S., and others who they claim to play the same genre of music with. This band isn't metal, this band is rock. They're screams are clearly edited, and they put no effort into the making of this LP. Disappointed? Yes. Surprised? No. I had a feeling after We Stitch These Wounds came out that Black Veil Brides would suck. And, belive me, there is not a single good thing about this album that any sober, right-minded person could say.

Ive only known black veil brides for a year or so, they taught me that people are going to hate no matter what. In the CD We Stitch These Wounds they accomplished alot because that CD is full of emotion guitar solos and epic screams. Then Set The World On Fire is more of a rock and roll more metal based drums more guitar involved and awesome vocals. I personally like this CD better because of the beats and lyrics i love youth and whiskey its a amazing song great drums and vocals another one i love is ritual because its soo positive! i mean theirs no song that can explain and motivate you to never give up and just continued living life. Another favorite the legacy i love it its incredible great guitar solos screams and great beat. OVERALL EPICLY FUCKING AWESOME DONE!!! BVB!

black veil brides new cd is AWESOME! i rate it an A. i luv how the songs are different in style-rock, metal, emo etc. something for everyone. bvb show their versatility in this cd---they are truly talented musicians. the guitars are riveting (ashley, jake & jinxx- are gifted in the talent) & lets not forget the drums (cc coma) rocks that kit with such fierce & fast hits that you find yourself headbanging without even knowing it. Andy of course is in true form. luv his voice & does change it a bit in different songs which i like. if you haven't gotten this cd yet & would get it soon you won't regret it. go BVB

The album was amazing, the lyrics and the music. It's truely an inspiring album, every song is great. Great job, guys<3
