Immolate Yourself is the third disc from the ever-evolving electronic act Telefon Tel Aviv. Now on Ellen Allien's BPitch Control label, the New Orleans duo have crafted another epic album-this time, though, it's a more organic affair. While maintaining the ambient electronic flourishes of past efforts, Immolate finds the pair experimenting with tape machines. The modern sound palette they pick from is now filtered through an old medium-the result is a warm, fuzzy vibe that makes their music even more moving than before. "Your Mouth" is a trippy track with moving synths and distorted vocals (think a creepier Moby). Suprisingly, TTA roam into pop territory on the Depeche Mode-esque "Helen Of Troy." Sure it's unexpected, but then again, when have Telefon Tel Aviv been predictable? (BPITCH CONTROL; bpitchcontrol.de) Eddie Fleisher
