If you can’t break new ground, mow the old one

From Jupiter - No, Seriously

[3/5]
What separates From Jupiter from the quadrillion pop-punk bands who would be downsized if Blink-182 were to reunite and record with John Feldmann? Well, not too frickin' much. So if you can't write a new chapter in musical history, you had better craft some songs whose hooks stay with listeners longer than the latest flu virus. Thankfully, "Blueprint To A Lie" and the title track are the stuff of playlist permanence, while the bombastic "My Teen Angst Ballad" wins a "truth in advertising" award. Bummer: Producer Mudrock occasionally marinates frontman Jeremy Sicotte's vocals in Pro Tools robotics that get in the way of the emotional context of some of the proceedings ("Slow Motion" is more WALL-E than human). Still, if From Jupiter can make the girls sway and the boys bounce, mission accomplished. (THIRD EYE; thirdeyemusic.com) Con Hongos
