AP'S MID-YEAR REPORT CARD: 2011
2011 is half-over. (Let that sink in; where does the time go?) To ensure that our year-end best-of list-making process isn't too arduous, we here at AP figured we'd get a head-start on things and take stock of our favorite albums released during the first six months of 2011. Of course, the following list isn’t totally exhaustive—for example, Thursday’s No Devolución, Iceage’s New Brigade, Death Cab For Cutie’s Codes And Keys, Title Fight’s Shed and Taking Back Sunday’s self-titled release have all seen plenty of iTunes action in the AP Skyscraper. But the following ten albums--listed in alphabetical order--stood out from the pack.
