Valencia tour blog (part 4)

Okay guys, I know it's Sunday now and that means I am two days late with this update, but I wanted to try and include the last couple of shows of tour in this one. Unfortunately, one of those shows got canceled so I didn't even get to get many pictures past Friday.

"But you guys still did an in-store at FYE on Saturday and I saw you there with a camera!" you might be saying right now.

"Yeah that's true, but I was taking some videos for a video update since you guys were singing so well and made the songs, especially holiday, sound even better than usual," is what I'm literally saying out loud right now.

That being said (do I say that too much? Should I start saying "in conclusion" like this is an essay for a high school history report?), here are some pictures from last week. They include a trip into Canada, a new pet butterfly we had for a little bit, Niagara Falls, and basically a lot of rock and roll. i'm sad to see the reason to believe tour come to an end, but at least my newfound love for photo blogging is strong with me and i'll be trying to keep this up for the future. anyways, here are some pictures...

Chris and JD saying bye to the Alternative Press photo blog while eating before our in store in Akron, Ohio.

The table they had set up for us in FYE. Our SPOT.

Koombayah.

Driving into Canada, Chris is making sure all of our passports and IDs are accounted for.

We didn't have any info on this guy though, customs denied him entrance. :/

He was flying around in a panic trying to hide from them, first he tried to get into Brendan's ears.

Then he tried to get into my hair because it looked cozy to him I guess.

We made it! Oh, Ca-knee-da. I love playing in Canada, everyone rules up there.

Load in and set up at the Opera House in Toronto.

Cash Cash parties in your bedroom all night long.

Found some Intelligentsia coffee in Toronto, we haven't seen that since we lived in LA while we recorded our record. JD, Brendan and I were in Cafe Americano heaven.

This was when Brendan gave me a tutorial on how to make lights move like that in the pictures you take. I've gotten pretty good at it I think. Oh yeah, isn't Hodge badass like an old hardcore guy that wears mesh shorts? Don't mess with him.

I spotted Brendan, Hodge, Chris, Max and Delicious on the lower observation deck of Niagara Falls when we went to visit on our day off.

Here they are coming back up.

My view of the Falls.

So that about does it for the Reason To Believe Tour photo blog. There are still a couple of straggler pictures that didn't make it on here, but I'll try and post those next week. Hope you guys liked seeing how much fun we were having. Until next time...

Valencia tour blog (part 3)

hey guys,

i'm writing you from a small coffee shop in howell, michigan. i generally try to post these at the end of thursday night or much earlier in the day on fridays, but the red roof inn was the first hotel that i've ever been to that chooses to charge extra to have wireless internet available in your room. that being said, i'm a little late and i'm sorry. it's been a fun week though! full of in stores, cool graffiti outside one of the clubs, people singing songs with us, and all sorts of other cool and exciting things. here are some photos...

walking into the first in store of the tour at FYE in oklahoma city

fact checking the interview they did to set up the shows that day

the new record is on sale at FYE now, as well as hot topic, best buy, and plenty of mom and pop record stores all over the country

how narcissistic of me to keep taking pictures of the marquee's.

the venue "the conservatory" is known to have really cool graffiti painted all over the venue. here's one.

Valencia tour blog (part 2)

So another week is down on the Reason To Believe tour, and that means I'm going to put some of the pictures I took up on here so you can see for yourself what's been going on. Since last week, we've been in Raleigh, North Carolina; Columbia, South Carolina; Augusta, Georgia; and Jacksonville and Tallahassee, Florida. The shows have been going great, I got to see my cousin for the first time in a while since she works in Columbia, a hurricane almost ruined some of our Florida shows (in the end, one had to be cancelled because the roof of the venue collapsed in the rain), and Matt Pryor from the Get Up Kids and the New Amsterdams played a show after our show was over one night. Right now we're in Nashville at Shane's brother apartment hanging out for the day before we head over to our show at the Muse, but before we go out to the show, here are some pictures from last week...

The brewery in Raleigh, one of the first clubs we ever played when we started touring. Now we're back!

Sweet merch this tour, Delicious makes it look good.

Before every show, we play X-Men and Frogger to loosen up. It keeps the fingers fresh for guitar playing.

This is Chris, our tour manager. He doesn't know what he's gotten himself into.

Sweet kids in line in Columbia, hanging out when we got there.

Lovin' it.

Single File, one of my new favorite bands. Make sure you check them out if you get a chance.

Sing It Loud.

Matt Pryor is playing the same club as us right after our show is done!

Whoops, didn't see you there.

Our new best friends.

Pat from Sing It Loud singing with us at the end of "The Space Between."

This last picture isn't that good but it's the only one I got of Matt Pryor's show in Columbia after our show was done. His new solo CD is awesome and on this tour he is playing songs from every project he's been a part of. Check it out if you get a chance.

That's it for now. I think we're out of the woods when it comes to having to worry about running into hurricanes, at least for now, so we won't have to worry about shows being cancelled anymore or anything like that. Tour's been a lot of fun though, and it's been awesome seeing the kids coming to the shows and singing the words to the new album already, so keep it up. We still have a couple of weeks to go, see you guys out there.

Valencia tour blog (part 1)

Hey guys,

George from Valencia here. We're back on the road after taking a month off from touring to get ourselves ready for the release of our new record, We All Need A Reason To Believe (which came out on August 26, FYI). The day the album came out, we started a headlining run with our friends Sing It Loud, Single File and Cash Cash and we thought it'd be a good idea to keep you all up to speed with the tour by photo blogging about it, and now I finally have a way to make sure I use this sweet camera I've had for a while at the same time. So that being said, here are some pictures from a performance we did at NBC 10 in Philly the day our album came out, and some from our show in Charlotte at the Tremont Music Hall. Tour is only a couple of days old, so of course next week there will be much more to check out, but for now, here you go...

This guy's name is Bill Henley, he is one of the hosts of the 10! show on NBC at 11 a.m. in Philly. His "TV voice" is the same as his real life voice. I always thought TV voices were those "in the moment" kinds of things, but I guess I was wrong.

This is from soundcheck.

We All Need A Reason To Believe is finally in stores!

After The 10! Show, we did an acoustic show at the FYE in Philly, on the corner of Broad and Chestnut. Good times.

Second day of tour, all the vans parked outside the Tremont in Charlotte waiting to load in.

Valencia right in the middle of the (chalk) marquee!

Check one two.

This is Hodge. He is with us on this tour helping us out with guitar teching and setting up. He's already losing it hanging out with us so much.

Delicious is back with us doing merch! He's on the right of this picture if you don't know him already. Bring him Bart Simpson vinyl qee's and he'll love you forever.

Me, Nate from Sing It Loud and Brendan. Psyched for the first day of tour, obviously.

There you have it for now. The tour is very young so there will be a lot more to come. See you guys on the road!
