JJ Abrams is a hack

So, I feel like all weekend I was bombarded with commercials for the next season of LOST. Let's just get one thing clear right away. I freaking can't stand that show. And Tim and Scott LOVE it. LOVE it. LOVE it. And I have to hear about it. Every day after it's on. Ugh. (I'm officially dreading January.)

Okay, let's back up a bit. I freaking LOVED the first season. Really. My roommate in Boston got the DVDs from one of her co-workers, and we were obsessed. I initially didn't want to watch it. Ever since I took off on a plane from Chicago-Midway in the middle of a thunderstorm in the summer of 2004 (aka, one of the scariest experiences in my life), I have had a "thing" about flying. So when that show debuted, I really didn't care to watch anything about a plane crash. But then my mom and my brother couldn't stop talking about it, so I decided to check it out. And then of course I loved it. And then half-way through the second season, the writers biffed. Big time. I'm not saying I could've done better. But they already had tons of interesting story lines. Why complicate it with a bunch of things they never seemed to want to answer? (My theory being: They had no effing idea where they were going with the show.)

Anyway, I think it's completely convoluted now, and if you're a LOST fan who wants to try to convince me otherwise, go for it. (But be warned that neither Tim nor Scott have been able to get me back on board.)

And, for the record, I'm clearly not the only one who feels this way. Check out this awesome blog for proof.*

*For the record, this blog was written under the heavy influence of cold/allergy medicine. But I still won't be watching LOST in January.

No excuses Rachel. If you're gonna hate, then hate without remorse. I totally agree, although I still like Abrams. I just feel like he has no idea how to answer the questions he creates, so he doesn't. That goes for Lost, Fringe, and Cloverfield. He must have helped write the series finale of The Sopranos. Still, maybe "hack" is a strong word...

I just hate the idea of "hey these guys are on an island, but lets spend the whole show about when they wern't on the island.

That and I hate TV.

Hey, Brandon-- If "hack" is too strong, maybe I'll stick with "JJ Abrams is a one trick pony." :)
