"That there is an RV"
Tomorrow's Thanksgiving! I'm stoked because I'm going home to Nebraska to spend it with my family for the first time since 2003. We've got plenty of great Thanksgiving weekend traditions. But one in particular is my all-time favorite.
It's not my dad's smoked turkey (even though it's delicious).
It's not my mom's homemade stuffing (even though I could eat that for days).
It's not EVEN the Nebraska/Colorado game, which is always the Friday after Thanksgiving (after being played on Thanksgiving for many years). I know, I know. That might be hard to believe, but it's true.
My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is the annual viewing of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.
I have easily seen this moving upward of 60 times. My brother and I used to watch it year round, we thought it was so funny. But we always watch it after Thanksgiving, as a transition into "official Christmas season." I pretty much know every line by heart. Try me sometime. I'll quote you back any scene you want.
So in honor of my fave holiday tradition, I thought I'd leave you with a few clips!
"I was just smelling, smiling."
"I wasn't talking to you."
"I can't swim, Clark."
"I know that, Eddie."
