Happy Holidays from Minden, The Christmas City
Okay, I'm not technically in Minden. Yet. But if the snow in Milwaukee cooperates, I will be home by 10 p.m. CST tonight! Fingers crossed for speedy snow plows and de-iced planes! :)
That being said, I am literally going home to "The Christmas City," which is my hometown's nickname. Every year (for a really long time) the courthouse in the center of our "downtown" square is completely decked out with Christmas lights. There's a parade, and the Christmas Pageant is performed on three sides of the courthouse lawn the weekends leading up to the holiday. All in all, it's a pretty fun place to spend the holidays. Not to mention my family, friends and dog Chloe are all there.
Anyway, here's a little preview of what you'd be seeing if you were coming home in my suitcase:

AP's shutting down its doors today for the remainder of the year (woohoo holiday break!), but make sure you keep checking in on the web in between family, food and presents. We're not entirely turning off the gears...
