What started to be an interview for AP's annual Warped issue turned into winter travel plans for RELIENT K's MATT THIESSEN and ANBERLIN's STEPHEN CHRISTIAN.

AP: I know I can never be in a band because after two-and-a-half hours in the car, I'm like "Are we there yet?" I turn into a caged animal. Are you guys big babies or complete road-dogs?

THIESSEN: Definitely road-dogs at this point.

So you're the guy who's like, "Yeah, I'll drive all the way; I'll drive from here to California, give me some Mountain Dew, I'll be fine."

THIESSEN: When you have to start flying to Australia and stuff, you have to learn to occupy yourself when you're traveling. You've just got to forget you're traveling.

CHRISTIAN: Yeah, it's like stamina. You just learn it after awhile. It's the necessary evil of the business. The good thing about touring is that hopefully, your booking agent has routed it so [the dates are] somewhat close together. In the early days, that didn't happen because you play where you get a show; I don't care if it's California the first day and Maine the second. But after awhile, like Matt said, you find things to do, you know. Thank God for the invention of iPods, and that thing called a book. But like he said, when you start traveling internationally, you have to find a way to sit in one seat for, 10, 12, 13 hours and not be bored.

How long is a plane ride to Australia?

THIESSEN: 12, 13 hours.

So that means you can will probably go through two iPod batteries and a laptop.

THIESSEN: Yeah, iPod batteries don't last very long, so I always buy a $60 backup battery.

CHRISTIAN: You do the buddy system. "Hey, we'll watch on my laptop till it dies, then move to yours."

I can't do that trip.

THIESSEN: It's worth it.

CHRISTIAN: It is worth it, absolutely. There are some of the most rabid fans of all time {overseas]. Singapore was a nightmare; the worst was India. That was 27 hours.

That's a day out of your life just getting there.

CHRISTIAN: It literally is. Again, it's worth it.

THIESSEN: It's literally not. It's 27 hours-more than a day.

CHRISTIAN: But it's worth it to see and experience a different culture, stuff like that.

THIESSEN: It's awesome, yeah. I wanna go.

CHRISTIAN: All right. We're going right after Christmas, like December 28.

THIESSEN: Really?

CHRISTIAN: Yeah, come with me.

THIESSEN: We should go.

CHRISTIAN: I'm serious!
