Apparently there’s a good ol’ boy preacher down here in the south who thinks that burning the holy book of a group who attacked us because we didn’t believe what they did is a great way to make a statement. I mean, forget what repercussions it will have on the U.S. and our troops right? As long as he and his church of 50 people get to post pictures of it on the internet??
This is so so so idiotic. I mean, even if it weren’t a bad idea for US security, etc. still…this is AMERICA. Unless you’re the freaking KLAN you’re supposed to be at least fairly tolerant…
I will personally hold this church responsible for every American death in Afghanistan and Iraq (don’t think for a second combat hasn’t actually ended) if this burning actually place. I certainly hope these people will be able to sleep better at night knowing that they aren’t on the other side of the planet dying for their idiocy.
Ungrateful fucks. As long as they feel justified in their faith, who gives a rat’s ass about my friends overseas?
Yesterday I checked into my last hotel, which gets CNN international. I heard all about this. It is outrageous beyond words, for all the reasons Gen. Patraeus has already outlined. I just…ugh. Too much facepalm to adequately express via mobile.
^ isn’t that the worst part of it though…the masses should be outraged by this, but instead were either docile or worse, people feel its just and completely warranted…
I might be riding up to this with a friend to protest. I love how the U.S. Army is ‘urging’ this NOT to happen because it is going to endanger our soldiers. And the preachers response? “We need to stop backing down.” Glad you’ll let young soldiers die for your bigotry, you piece of inbred shit.
Horrific. Outrageous. Above all, shameful. Makes me hate being an American when there are people like this. Yes, it’s a very small congregation, but it just sums up the atmosphere of intolerance (whether it be religious, racial or anything else) that is not only tolerated but is EXPANDING every day.
It’s just sad that so many of these like-minded people exist.
