Winona Ryder, Keanu Reeves might have accidentally gotten married during ‘Dracula’

This is still a better love story than Twilight. On the set of his 1992 production Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Francis Ford Coppola had the bright idea of using a legitimate priest to wed the film’s two protagonists. Now, Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder might be legally binded by marriage.

During the filming of Dracula, our two favorite goths shared a disturbing marriage scene, which you can watch below. However, Ryder thinks that the scene may hold more weight than what meets the eye.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly about the pair’s collaboration on their upcoming rom-com Destination Wedding, the Stranger Things actress insisted that Coppola hired a real Romanian priest to shoot their iconic “I dos” 25 years ago. To this day, she isn’t sure whether her and Reeves are actually married.

“We actually got married in Dracula,” Winona Ryder says. “No, I swear to God I think we’re married in real life. In that scene, Francis [Ford Coppola] used a real Romanian priest. We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So I think we’re married.”

While it took some convincing, Reeves eventually remembered their romantic Valentine’s Day scene and jokingly responded, “Oh my gosh, we’re married.”

You can catch Ryder and Reeves on the big screen come Aug. 31 in Destination Wedding. Watch the trailer for their latest collaboration below!
