Listen to 100 gecs’ hooky surprise EP Snake Eyes

100 gecs promise that a new album is on the horizon in the upcoming year. For now, though, the hyperpop duo are back with a surprise EP, Snake Eyes.

With the three-song EP, which dropped today, 100 gecs don’t disappoint. The release presents an evolution of their madcap blend of hyperpop, alternative rock and pop punk, showing an unexpectedly melodic side to the pair. “Torture Me” features a seamless, short-and-sweet collab with Skrillex that’s both digitalized and hooky. Meanwhile, “Run Away” boasts a soothing piano intro before bursting into an electronic edge.

Fans will also instantly recognize “Hey Big Man,” as Dylan Brady and Laura Les have used the song as their tour opener over the past few months.

On top of the EP news, 100 gecs shared that their long-awaited sophomore album, 10,000 gecs, is due out March 17 via Dog Show/Atlantic. The follow-up to their 2019 debut, 1000 gecs, will include their alt-rock ode to college snack food “Doritos & Fritos,” which came out earlier this year, and the 2021 single “mememe.” You can preorder it here.
