Web Exclusive: Blessthefall Tour Diary (part five)
Phoenix-based screamo quintet Blessthefall are currently on a co-headlining tour with Escape The Fate through mid-October in support of their debut album His Last Walk, and we’ve asked them to document their expriences exclusively for altpress.com readers. WHATS UP EVERYONE!
This is it! The last entry to the Black On Black Tour Diary. It was a blast playing with all the great bands and seeing all you crazy people! I dont have any pictures to show, but there are a lot of things i would like you to hear! Heres what the last 2 shows had going on.
Los Angeles
The Key Club. The venue was sick! But the workers there sucked. They were being really bossy to all the bands. We all hung out for awhile, tonight was Dance Gavin Dance’s last show, they had to miss San Diego for their next tour. We love them. The crowd was awesome. The show was intense. There was a little bit of drama though. I’m sure some of you heard, and saw, so heres the beef. Craig jumped off the speakers last song and got all up with ya in the front row….well, security didnt approve. After catching him in the crowd, they forced him through the crowd, into a door and into the back staircase where he was thrown around by 3 or more BIG security guards. I saw this happening and ran to the stairs. After being pinned down by his neck I ran up to push some of them off but was picked up by my own neck and tossed down a few steps. Our tour manager Dougie and Escape The Fates tour manager was also being manhandled by security in the stairs. After being tossed down i ran back on stage to get Eric. Moments after running back up the stairs, another securty guard threw both of us down 4 or 5 stairs again. While this is happening, Craig is still being held down like hes a convict escaping jail. Finally after 5 more security guards and the owner came up, it settled down a little bit and we all left the building….Craig was escorted. In the end, it made for a great story and great show and hopefully the security guards who think they are allowed to manhandle the bands they way they did….got fired. Everyone and everything is ok too. Thanks for a SICK SICK SHOW!
San Diego!
Back at SOMA! We LOVE LOVE LOVE San Diego. The venue is super tight too. Tiger Woods for PSP is also incredible by the way. The show went out with a bang. Everyone played a great set. You guys in the crowd were nuts! Thanks so much for ending off the Black On Black Tour with a great show! Cant wait to come back. Thanks for getting crunk with us!
