WARPED TURNS 10
The history! The bands! The catering! The mistakes! AP wishes a happy 10th birthday to the VANS WARPED TOUR, the event that saves us discerning music fans from those crappy, radio-sanctioned festivals that pop up every summer. Members of Thursday, Taking Back Sunday, the Casualties, the Bouncing Souls, New Found Glory, Avenged Sevenfold and Good Charlotte stop by to blow out the candles, while tour founder Kevin Lyman talks us through the highs (and lows) of the punk-rock tour that has no contenders.

SECTIONS

THE OFFSPRING
The Offspring are too young to be old school, too old for new school, but still big enough to not fall through the cracks of the greater punk-rock consciousness.

TIGER ARMY
Nick 13, Geoff Kresge and Fred Hell learn the hard way that what doesn’t kill you makes you rock harder.

AP’S SUMMER PREVIEW
You think your life moves fast? We’ve been running faster than Fred Durst at a strip-club opening to bring you the coolest discs, tours, movies and fashion of the summer, way before anyone else. It’s okay; you can thank us later.

NEW RELEASES
We go In The Studio with Sum 41, Flogging Molly and Atreyu; preview new music from Bad Religion, Pedro The Lion, Sonic Youth and more; and list 100-plus more CDs you’ll be mowing lawns overtime to afford this summer.

WIRETAPPING
The AP Poll asks if winners never cheat and cheaters never win; Matchbook Romance and the All-American Rejects’ metalcore side project sweep Low Profiles; Thursday go back to the basement; Murder By Death give us cello lessons; Rufio hit the road with new energy; and punks of all sizes team up for Rock Against Bush. All that plus games, gear and the gossip we hear-and that’s just scratching the surface.

SCREENING
Emile Hirsch goes from altar boy to Z-boy; Heather Matarazzo forecloses her Dollhouse; Eye Candy grabs its weapon and heads into the Punk Rock Holocaust; Now Showing battles the toughest group of cinematic adversaries invading theaters and DVD players.
