2011 Song Of The Year

Black Veil Brides – Fallen Angels

Frontman Andy Biersack on the song and the win: “I don’t think we’ve yet written the definitive Black Veil Brides song, but this was an attempt to give our fans a true anthem and something that was more of a call to arms, so to speak. It’s about being different and being an outcast but not necessarily being the kind of person that wants to revel in that. We don’t want to be on the fringes of society, we just want to have fun in our lives, and a lot of times because of that the rebellious kids and the weird kids are the outcasts of society. I feel that on a personal level, if I could have had that song in my life when I was twelve or thirteen years old, letting me know there were people out there who felt the same, it would have meant a lot to me, and I think that’s why it means a lot to our audience.”

“It tells us that they are who they are, and inspires people to be who they are without judgment.” —Kendra Kane, Peoria, Arizona
