Rob Zombie‘s 3 From Hell is getting closer to completion, and it appears that the forthcoming horror flick is going to have plenty of Zombie’s signature graphic, and violent, style.

During a recent interview with Rue Morgue, 3 From Hell star Bill Moseley, shared the news that Zombie’s upcoming film will be full of “gratuitous violence,” a trait that many fans notice is present in a lot of Zombie’s films.

“From what I’ve heard from Rob, he’s very happy and excited about what he’s got, and it’s chockablock with gratuitous violence [laughs], which is great, because lately there have been a lot of good horror movies that just don’t have a lot of that,” Moseley shared. “I mean, the violence is skillful, it’s effective, but it’s not gratuitous, and that’s what I think the fans are missing. I think we just want a lot of violence for violence’s sake—decapitations, shotguns to the face, just general ass-kickin’ stuff that we’re not really getting much of these days.”

He continued on by saying that he’s noticed fans are pretty excited for the film’s highly anticipated sequel, and with good reason. With Devil’s Rejects being one of Zombie’s most popular films, Moseley feels as though the upcoming flick will leave Zombie’s longstanding fans happy.

“The fans I’ve seen recently are just so excited that there’s finally a sequel to Devil’s Rejects. Most of the people I talk to just love it and continue to watch it, sometimes three or four times a day, God bless ’em,” Moseley shared. “The fact that we’re actually doing a new one has them buzzing. And I’m excited about the fact that, from what I gather, it’s going to blow the minds of the fans, and they’re going to be very happy with it. They’re not going to be disappointed.”

3 From Hell, what we know so far:

Zombie’s 3 From Hell will reportedly continue the story of murderous drifters Otis Driftwood (Bill Moseley), Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig) and “Baby” (played by Zombie’s wife, Sheri Moon Zombie) in a third installment following House Of 1000 Corpses (2003) and The Devil’s Rejects (2005)

A few months ago, Zombie revealed on SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation show that he wouldn’t be starting the editing process on the flick until he finished his summer tour with Marilyn Manson.

“We’re done shooting it,” Zombie says. “And, basically, the process just stops and waits for me. ‘Cause the film will just basically sit and wait till I get back from tour, which is the end of August, maybe… I don’t remember when [The Second Coming] tour [with Marilyn Manson] ends… beginning of September. And then we’ll start editing. And that’ll take me through the rest of the year.”

Zombie then added that editing the horror film should only take a total of “five or six months, maybe. But I like it. I have a studio at my house, and we just bring the editors there and set up and we just sequester ourselves away. It’s actually the same studio we make the records in, we just switch out the gear.”

Luckily for us, the tour is officially over, so we should be seeing 3 From Hell soon! The film doesn’t have an official release date, but it’s slated to hit theaters sometime in 2019!
