8 Inch Betsy premiere “I Will Never Go Home” single

Chicago punks 8 Inch Betsy are teaming up with AP to bring you their new single, “I Will Never Go Home.” The song is taken from the band’s posthumous sophomore album, The Mean Days, which is being released after the unfortunate death of frontwoman Meghan Galbraith earlier this year. Check it out, and let us know your thoughts.

Bassist Eli Burke says:

“We did a West Coast tour in 2009, and had become close to all the other bands we traveled with. I guess sleeping in random piles on floors and hotel rooms brings people together. When we got back to Chicago it was already cold and winter was coming. We both got into a pretty heavy funk and just wanted to be back out on the road, in beautiful weather, meeting cool new people and playing shows with our friends. Like if you can imagine a dog heaven and we're the dogs… touring was like that. So, Meghan did what she was good at and she wrote about it. I mostly sulked while she hid away in her room and then came out with “I Will Never Go Home” recorded on Garageband. You can hear her list all the other people in the bands we toured with in this song. I knew we would be back out touring after that. She was always surprising me with new material. It was always exciting. She was always blowing my mind with her music. And we did tour a lot after that.”

The Mean Days is out Nov. 13 via 307 Knox Records. Purchase it here.
