Paramore, All Time Low, We The Kings, MGMT up for Woodies
mtvU, MTV’s college network, today announced the nominees for the 2008 mtvU Woodie Awards, the only show honoring the music voted best by the college audience. Nominees include Paramore, All Time Low, We The Kings, Motion City Soundtrack, MGMT, Vampire Weekend, Jack’s Mannequin, Atmosphere and more. The complete nominee list is below.
The awards ceremony will take place on November 12, 2008, at New York City’s Roseland Ballroom; the show will be broadcast on November 19, 2008, at 8 p.m. EST on mtvU, mtvU.com and HD network Palladia. Readers can vote for the awards here through November 7.

Ludacris (Def Jam Recordings) – “The Ludacris Foundation” – Since 2001, the foundation has donated $500,000 to support grassroots organizations that work to help youth and has connected with youth to build stronger families and communities.
Jack’s Mannequin (Warner Bros Records) – “Dear Jack Foundation” – Established by lead singer, Andrew McMahon, a leukemia survivor, this group raises money and awareness for cancer research.
Mary J Blige (Geffen) – “FFawn Foundation” – This new foundation’s goal is to empower women through scholarships, grants and other educational resources, building confidence and career skills.
