Upon discovering her song was being played at a Trump rally in Chatanooga, TN, Rihanna took to Twitter to share her discontent. The popstar quoted a tweet from a journalist at the Washington Post, who stated that the rally resembled a fun, “ball game.”
“Not for much longer,” Rihanna says in a tweet. “Me nor my people would ever be at or around one of those tragic rallies, so thanks for the heads up Philip!”

According to Rolling Stone, Riri and her legal team weren’t finished with the Trumpster quite yet. Following the Twitter interaction, Rihanna actually served the president with a cease and desist letter.
“It has come to our attention that President Trump has utilized (Rihanna’s) musical compositions and master recordings, including her hit track ‘Don’t Stop the Music,’ in connection with a number of political events held across the United States,” Rihanna’s legal team says in a letter to the White House counsel. “As you are or should be aware, Ms. Fenty has not provided her consent to Mr. Trump to use her music. Such use is therefore improper.”

The letter went on to inform the White House staff that the use of Rihanna’s song inherently associates her with Trump, which, of course, would not be tolerated.
“Trump’s unauthorized use of Ms. Fenty’s music creates a false impression that Ms. Fenty is affiliated with, connected to or otherwise associated with Trump,” the letter says.
In addition to Rihanna’s recent stance on Trump’s use of her song, she has been encouraging the public to go out and vote.
It’s ELECTION DAY America!!! The most important day for the rest of your lives! If you’re tired of complaining about the state of the country and government, get up and #VOTE!!!
