Siiickbrain taps into her softer side with “when i fall”

This past December, Siiickbrain (Caroline Miner Smith) unleashed her debut project, MY MASOCHISTIC MIND, which featured the anxiety-inspired standout “Die Quietly.” To follow it up, she will explore her softer side with a new acoustic EP, Dizzy Spells, out next month.

The first preview, “when i fall,” is a short-and-sweet confessional that features Shiloh Dynasty and No Love For The Middle Child and comes with a sentimental music video. “‘when i fall’ is about true events that were written and performed as we were recovering from the challenges of a relationship while simultaneously creating music together,” Siiickbrain exclusively tells AP. “Being able to create with a partner is such an intimate experience that made this collaboration extra special to us.

“Before this song was made, I had written the other songs during a period of time that we weren’t together, processing my emotions through songwriting, while most of the songs on the project I wrote to voice recordings of my partner playing guitar,” she continues. “For the first time in my career, I will be putting out an acoustic EP, Dizzy Spells, being my most honest and intimate project to date, stripped down to a place where no production can hide the emotion. Though it feels a little scary exposing my personal life and experiences, it also was an extremely cathartic process that I know many people will resonate with.”
