The Maine are teasing something, here's our theory
The Maine have taken to their social media accounts to tease something, and we’re stressed.

Last night (July 1) the band took to Twitter to share a photo of a golden skull, with the mysterious caption: “The countdown begins.”

Then, today (July 2,) the band shared this to their Instagram:
A countdown? A picture of a cactus? What could all of this mean?!
Well, we have some theories.
Earlier in January, the Maine released the first episode of their 8123 podcast. Featuring the band’s Pat Kirch and Garrett Nickelsen, the pair talked with Eric Halvorsen about his runs with A Rocket To The Moon and Cobra Starship.
During the conversation, Halvorsen talked to the guys about A Rocket To The Moon’s reunion performance at the first-ever 8123 fest, which happened on Jan. 21, 2016 to celebrate the Maine’s 10 years as a band.
What struck us about the conversation was Kirch’s response to what Halvorsen had to say:
“We would love to have you guys play at the next fest,” Kirch replies. “We’ll see if you can make it happen by then.”
With the fest being rumored to possibly return sometime next year, it got us thinking that the 8123 fest could be making a comeback. But, if it’s not the second edition of 8123 Fest, then we can only assume that the band are teasing a new song (dare we say another album?!)
Last month, Pat Kirch shared that Warped will be the band’s final run playing their 2017 album Lovely Little Lonely. While he was sharing the news that the LLL-era would be finished after Warped, he said something interesting at the end of his Twitter video:
“Come and say hello to us one last time before we go and make a new record”
So we know that a new record is coming out, but after Warped.
Regardless of what the Maine are teasing, we can’t wait to see what the next thing the band will be up to.
The Maine will be heading out all summer long for the final cross-country run of the Vans Warped Tour. Check out the full list of cities and dates below!
