If you're looking forward to new Rick And Morty episodes, you'll have to wait. The fourth season of the show might not air until late 2019.

Writer Ryan Ridley revealed the news during an interview with Detroit Cast.

According to Ridley, the writers still haven't started writing for the new season, so it's unlikely it will happen this year, because creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland “really take their time.”

“I never understood why everybody—all parties, Dan, Justin and Adult Swim—didn’t get their shit together and make the show fast,” says Ridley. “It doesn’t make any sense to me. I’m sure they all have their reasons.”

“Get your shit together, you guys,” the writer pleads.

This might be the longest time Rick And Morty fans will have to wait for new episodes, reports ComicBook.com. There was a 13-month wait between seasons one and two, and it took another 16 months for season three to air. Now, it could take up to two years for season four to be released.

According to the website, the new season is yet to be greenlit, but the creators believe it will happen.
