‘A Star Is Born’ is now the highest-grossing film starring a musician

A Star Is Born starring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper is a force of nature.

It won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song. Both actors are nominated for Best Actress/Actor and Best Original Song at the Oscars, which is the first time that’s happened in history.

Now, the film has just made even more history.

A Star Is Born is now the highest-grossing movie of all time that stars a musician. The movie passed the 1992 film The Bodyguard, directed by Mick Jackson and starring Whitney Houston.

The Bodyguard earned $411 in theaters while A Star Is Born is at $413.6 according to Box Office Mojo.

The film is also nominated for Best Picture, Adapted Screenplay, Cinematography and Sound Mixing at the 91st Academy Awards. Sam Elliott, who plays Bobby in the film, is up for the award of Best Actor is a Supporting Role.

The 91st Academy Awards will air on ABC Sunday, Feb. 24 at 8:00 p.m. EST.

Directed by Cooper, the film follows the story of an alcoholic country singer (Cooper) who falls for an unknown singer-songwriter (Gaga). This will be the third remake of the 1937 film, following the 1976 musical.

Sally Cummings, Marlon Williams Dave Chappelle, Anthony Ramos, Shangela and Halsey are all also in the film.
