In an interview with PETA, Havok said this cause is a necessary one to stand up for, especially in lieu of the ease in acquiring leather in the fashion industry today.

“I think people have been desensitized to what goes into making some of the things we wear,” Havok says. “I was raised on rock and roll, like many people, and the leather jacket was part of that culture. But no article of clothing, feeling of confidence or otherness is worth the torture or the murder of an innocent creature.”

In his campaign ad, he is pictured with the message, “I’d rather go naked than wear leather. Rock the skin you were born in. Let animals keep theirs.”

This campaign coincides with AFI’s recent album announcement, along with two new singles from their new self-titled album, set to drop Jan. 20, 2017.

AFI have also been announced alongside the likes of Sleeping With Sirens and Motionless In White for UK's Download Festival next summer.
