Andrew McMahon is arguably one of the hardest-working musicians in the alternative scene, having started his first successful band Something Corporate in high school. This band delivered such hits as “I Woke Up In A Car” and “Punk Rock Princess” from their major-label record Leaving Through The Window that McMahon still plays during his live shows today.

The success led to his solo project Jack’s Mannequin, which also produced classics with “Holiday From Real” and “Dark Blue.”

In 2014, McMahon ventured into a new project fans know and love today known as Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness. His most recent album, Upside Down Flowers, was released in 2018 with lead single “Ohio.”

For those listeners who have followed McMahon since the early 2000s, this quiz is for you. See if you can match up the lyrics to the correct music project below.

Unfortunately, Andrew McMahon was forced to cancel his summer tour with AWOLNATION due to the coronavirus. But he has stayed busy by participating in social media livestreams for fans.

The singer also shared his own edgy, piano-filled spin on Kacey Musgraves’ “Slow Burn” from her Grammy-winning album, Golden Hour

“I was late to the Kacey Musgraves party but when I got there I became a super fan,” McMahon tweeted about the song. “Golden Hour has been a staple in my home and everywhere else I listen to music since my wife and daughter introduced me to it last year. I’d cover the whole album if I could but ‘Slow Burn’ felt most like the song I could bring something unique to.”

“It doesn’t hurt to have Butch Walker behind the console when attempting something some might see as sacrilege. It’s a beautiful song and we had fun taking some chances with the production.”
