QUIZ: Which classic Tim Burton character are you?

For over three decades, filmmaker Tim Burton has delighted audiences with his unique brand of dark whimsy. Whether he’s working with material from his own twisted imagination such as Beetlejuice, adapting literary classics as with Charlie And The Chocolate Factory or recounting the real-life exploits of creative weirdos such as Ed Wood, Burton’s characters are as essential to his trademark style as his gothic-tinged visuals.

Although they’re always quirky and occasionally a bit sinister, the people (and other things) that populate Burton’s movies appeal to the outsider in all of us. Take this quiz to find out which one lurks inside you below.

As detailed by The Hollywood Reporter, Michael Keaton may be donning the cowl and cape as Batman for the first time since 1992 in Warners’ upcoming The Flash. Although nothing is finalized, Keaton is in talks with Warner Brothers to reprise his role as DC’s Caped Crusader opposite Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen, opening the door for the veteran actor to appear across a spectrum of films in the DC cinematic universe. Speculation around Keaton’s return centers on the actor portraying an older and wiser Dark Knight, acting as a mentor to younger superheroes

Keaton was first cast as the popular superhero by director Tim Burton for 1989’s Batman. Both the actor and the director were considered controversial choices at the time, with serious comic book fans fearing that the combination of Burton’s quirky visual style and Keaton’s reputation as a comedic actor would result in a continuation of the campiness of the 1966 TV show starring Adam West.

The duo proved the naysayers wrong with Burton’s vision and Keaton’s performance along with Jack Nicholson’s iconic turn as Joker becoming instant fan favorites. Burton and Keaton would return for 1992’s Batman Returns before turning the series over to director Joel Schumacher for Batman Forever and the universally panned Batman & Robin, which would sink the franchise for nearly a decade.
