Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness drop new song, announce tour

Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness are making our lives better this morning with a handful of announcements.

The band have announced a new album and tour. Plus, they are sharing a new song. Check all the news below!

Andrew McMahon and co. are sharing their new album, Upside Down Flowers, will be out really soon. The follow-up to 2017’s Zombies On Broadway is coming Nov. 16.

In addition to that, the band dropped the first single off the full-length, “Teenage Rockstars.” Plus, they are going on a massive tour in early 2019 with Grizfolk and flor.

McMahon wrote a heartfelt post about the forthcoming record on Instagram, sharing some of the stories from the songs.

“Welcome to the land of Upside Down Flowers. We don’t live here because it’s easy, we live here because it’s beautiful,” the singer writes. “When I close my eyes and think about these songs I see the faces of the people I wrote them for.”

“Find what you love, be patient or be quick. There is a piece of me in this and I hope a piece of you, my friends,” he continues. “As I see it we are all upside down flowers. Beautiful and backwards, and if we’re lucky…just a little proud.

Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness have also dropped a music video for “Teenage Rockstars,” the first single off Upside Down Flowers.

“I don’t think anyone is ever ready for their dreams to come true. I know I wasn’t,” McMahon reflects. “All I’ve ever wanted to be was a songwriter. When I finally got the chance, it happened so fast, I didn’t fully appreciate how lucky I was.”

“I dedicate this song to every kid out there wondering if it’s okay to dream of being a rockstar. I say ‘fucking dream.’,” he continues.

Plus, the band are going on tour in support of the new record in January, February and March of next year. Grizfolk and flor. wil be joining them on the run, which kicks off Jan. 23, 2019 in Phoenix, AZ.
