Joe Biden and Kamala Harris take their campaign to ‘Animal Crossing’
Staring Sept. 1, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players can show their support for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris‘ 2020 presidential campaign.
The Biden-Harris campaign has released four different yard signs that Animal Crossing players can now decorate their lawns with.

Due to coronavirus, the Biden-Harris campaign has been thinking of new ways to both engage and encourage voters. Along with virtual interviews, including one with Cardi B, and socially-distant appearances, the Biden-Harris campaign is finding different ways to hit the campaign trail without in-person rallies.
As part of the latest initiative, the Biden-Harris campaign is joining Animal Crossing. The campaign has launched four signs that feature different designs. Players of the popular Nintendo game can download the designs and decorate their yards with them.
The signs include the official Biden-Harris logo, Team Joe logo, the Joe Pride logo and even a sign with red, white and blue aviator sunglasses on it. Players can access the in-game designs by scanning the design QR codes through the Nintendo Switch Online app.
Christian Tom, director of digital partnerships for the Biden campaign, shares that this latest move is just another innovative way to engage voters. As well, Tom and the campaign hope that these signs will bring supporters together within Animal Crossing.
“Animal Crossing is a dynamic, diverse, and powerful platform that brings communities together from across the world. It is an exciting new opportunity for our campaign to engage and connect Biden-Harris supporters as they build and decorate their islands. As we enter the final campaign stretch towards November, this is one way we are finding new creative and innovative ways to meet voters where they are and bring our supporters together.”

It has not been revealed how long the signs will be available on Animal Crossing. However, it can be assumed that they will around until the November election draws closer.
The wholesome, easy-going game has captured the hearts of many this year. In fact, following its launch, Animal Crossing: New Horizons sold over 13.41 million units in its first six weeks. As well, just 11 days after its launch, over 11.7 million people picked up their copies.
