Apparently Twitter knows something about that ‘Spider-Man 3’ cast rumor

It’s time for your weekly update about your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. This week, Spider-Man: No Way Home sent fans into a frenzy over one simple post.

As it turns out, Twitter may know something about those Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield casting rumors we don’t.

For what seems like a century now, rumors have been swirling that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are reprising their Peter Parker roles in Spider-Man: No Way Home. So far, however, both Sony and Marvel have denied these casting rumors. However, a leaked Sony marketing video and those recent Spider-Man 3 fake title teasers have some fans convinced otherwise. Tom Holland even tried to shoot down the casting rumors, but failed to persuade fans on multiple occasions.

Now, it looks like Twitter apparently knows something MCU fans don’t about Spider-Man: No Way Home. This week, Twitter’s own verified account took on the honorable duty of writing profile bios for various users. However, Spider-Man: No Way Home didn’t get quite the bio it was hoping for when the account asked Twitter to write one.

#SpiderManNoWayHome starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield, only in movie theaters this Christmas.”

Of course, it’s unknown if Twitter is simply trolling Spider-Man 3 or if this is Marvel’s cryptic way of confirming those casting rumors. Nevertheless, the tweet has sent the rumor mill on fire. And no, Spider-Man: No Way Home hasn’t updated its Twitter bio yet.

More on Spider-Man: No Way Home

Last month, a casting call for CL Casting announced a film titled The November Project is looking to cast extras for a courtroom scene in Georgia. For those of you who don’t know, The November Project is one of the working titles for Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The scene in question is looking for extras to play an attorney, a stenographer and a videographer. However, no other details have been released at this time. This latest news arrives shortly after rumors emerged that Charlie Cox‘s Matt Murdock may make an appearance in the new film.

Over the past few months, a lot of new information about Spider-Man: No Way Home has emerged. Along with Benedict Cumberbatch who is returning as Doctor Strange in the new film, Jamie Foxx is also reportedly returning as Electro. Similarly, Alfred Molina is rumored to be reprising his Doctor Octopus role. More recently, new rumors also surfaced that Willem Dafoe is back as Green Goblin.

According to a recent a 4chan leak, Spider-Man allegedly faces the repercussions of Scarlet Witch opening the multiverse at the end of WandaVision. Eventually, this causes Holland to unite with Garfield and Maguire’s Peter Parkers. Together, they must work together to defeat the villains from their past and, according to the leak, there are a lot of them in this new film.

However, the leak did say that the new film is called Spider-Man: Homeworlds which we now know isn’t the case. So it’s possible the details mentioned in this leak are far from how the film will actually play out.

Despite this, Sony did recently release a massive hint about the new film. Last month, Sony shared a cryptic clue that alludes to one of the storylines in Spider-Man: No Way Home. By the looks of it, the upcoming movie is going to address that massive Far From Home cliffhanger with Mysterio and Peter Parker.

As well, an eagle-eyed fan recently spotted a big detail on the set of Spider-Man 3 that may have confirmed a new villain is joining the MCU in the new movie.
