Apple is discontinuing the iPod Nano and Shuffle

RIP to another music listening favorite: It appears as though the iPod Nano and Shuffle have been discontinued for good, Bloomberg confirms.

According to the news source, the two products have already been removed from the Apple online store, and it will soon be vanishing from retail locations as well.

Bloomberg explains that the two Apple models hadn't seen redesigns in years, with the Nano’s last revamp happening in 2012 and the Shuffle’s latest remodel happening all the way back in 2010.

“Today, we are simplifying our iPod lineup with two models of iPod touch now with double the capacity starting at just $199 and we are discontinuing the iPod shuffle and iPod nano,” Apple told the news source.

Although most people use their iPod Touch and iPhones for streaming, it still hurts just a little bit to see our once childhood favorite music listening device bite the dust.
