Apple in talks to launch online radio in 2013

Yesterday we learned that Apple Inc. has gobbled up The Beatles' Apple Corps logo, and today we learn that they're creeping in for the kill on Pandora Radio, as well.

Well, maybe not the kill, but they did make Pandora's stock drop 111.73% yesterday when the market got its hands on the following information:

Apple is currently in talks with record labels about launching (and effectively monetizing) its own ad-sponsored, online radio. Like, soon. By 2013 (Bloomberg reports possibly by mid-November!)

Is it only I who pictures Apple as a giant creature running around chomping up multimedia initiatives like Pac-Man? Is this the nail in the coffin for other online radio services?
