Singer Telle Smith admits that he almost got kicked out of the band in 2009, during a band conversation in a Texas Taco Bell. His bandmates explained that he needed to step up his game, and Telle took it to heart. “I got better at giving massages, that's for sure,” he says.

An important fact was that the band has never eaten road kill, that we know of at least. “The Word Alive hosted a video saying we skinned and ate a deer that we ran over early on in our touring days,” says Zack Hansen, “and we in fact did not skin and eat the deer.”

Bassist Daniel Shapiro has some beef with the popular meme 'Damn Daniel.' “Damn Daniel ruined my life,” he says.
