Anthrax discuss being asked to write a song for 'Game Of Thrones'

Following Rock on the Range, AP’s Josh Bernstein sat down with Anthrax bassist Frank Bello. The two talked family, touring with Volbeat, the changing music scene in Manhattan and writing a song for Game of Thrones.

Bello talked about the family atmosphere on that tour and exposing their music to new fans thanks to Volbeat.

Anthrax are no strangers to collaborating with different genres. When they decided to do a song with Public Enemy in the ‘80s they knew it was cause a lot of controversy. “It was [about] breaking a lot of doors down, because music should be heard by everybody.” says Bello.

Bello also talks about his love of pop culture and HBO shows. Game of Thrones recently reached out to the band for a song and Bello is hoping to collaborate with other shows in the future. —Heather Mulgannon
