The Amity Affliction on hating covers, why ‘Misery’ was the next step

The Amity Affliction released one of the most head-turning albums in the heavy music scene in 2018 with Misery and are about to dominate stages with Senses Fail. The future may be bright for this vested yet ever-evolving band, but according to vocalist Joel Birch, their success is in spite of a slew of misconceptions people on the internet has about them.

Birch talks about his disdain for cover songs, attempts to answer questions that “make him sick” and tries his damndest to sum up his band in five words in this APTV exclusive.

Back in November, Senses Fail and the Amity Affliction announced a co-headlining tour with Bad Omens and Belmont as support. A few days later, Senses Fail stated Bad Omens dropped out over the size of their name on the poster.

At the time, they stated the run would continue as scheduled, and the bands were working on finding new support. Now, we finally know who that support will be.

Silent Planet will join the three bands as support for the 2019 run that kicks off in January. You can check out the updated poster and list of dates below. Tickets are available now here.
